This salsa blanca is not for the faint of heart!!! Trust us, we love spicy foods and this is a lot to handle. But if you love spice, then you came to the right place.
We learned this salsa recipe when we visited Mexico with our dear friend Fr. Julio. He invited us to go stay with his family. While we were there his sister, Rocio, made this amazing salsa blanca and shared her recipe with us! It’s the perfect addition to your taco party!
Try it for yourself:
The Ingredients:
8 Habanero Peppers
3 Cloves of Garlic
1/4 White Onion (or any kind of onion you have)
1/2 Cup of Milk (more if needed)
1 oz block of cream cheese (we recommend having more on hand if you need to cool it down)
The Directions
Preheat oven to 350ºf and roast habaneros, onions, and garlic on a baking sheet for 10 minutes.
Carefully take out of oven and add to food processor. Also add cream cheese and milk and pulse until it is a smooth consistency. Taste and add salt, more milk, or more cream cheese to get desired taste.
