Homemade Restaurant Style Salsa

Homemade Restaurant Style Salsa

After making this salsa, you will not buy it out of a jar again. It is so easy and so much better than salsa you can buy at the grocery.  Here’s how:

The Ingredients:

1 15 oz can fire roasted crushed tomatoes (we like Muir Glen)

½ cup chopped yellow onion

Juice of ½ lime

1 tbsp sugar

½ bunch of cilantro, rinsed and chopped

1-2 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, chopped

Salt and pepper to taste

The Directions:

Rinse chopped onions under water. This will reduce the “onion-y” bite from the salsa. Then add all ingredients. Use an immersion blender or regular blender to blend together. Taste salsa with your favorite tortilla chip and adjust seasoning (sugar, lime, salt, pepper) as needed. If it’s not spicy enough, add another chopped chipotle pepper and blend again.
